I REALLY don't like it when.....

MOMS, YOUR THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS NEEDED!

A few months ago I was in Walmart :P with three VERY small children.

Law was being a very happy playful self -which is rare so I REALLY enjoy these moments.

Not bothering anyone or anything just being happy, laughing, and playing

when an old man came around the corner and SH'd him harshly it caught him off guard he was scared and sad.

I didn't do anything -not because I agreed with the man that he needed to 'SSHHH!!'

but because I just didn't know what to do!

I have regretted not saying something to that man ever since.

We are a loud family and Law does have a big voice but he didn't need to do that it was rude and uncalled for.

Today I visited that same Walmart for the first time since then and my boys were running around the cart as I was checking out -just being happy, not being destructive at all -and believe me I'd be the first to admit if they were being too rowdy -it's not uncommon. However this time, like the last, they were just being happy racing between the cart and the little checkout fridge.

When an older man -an employee came up and scolded them each with a firm "don't touch that!" -meaning the fridge scaring them.

I finished checking out then went up to him with a smile, he smiled back, then I said, "I'm not meaning to be disrespectful and I thank you to let me or my children know if they are doing something inappropriate however I'd greatly appreciate it if you used a 'please' next time."

Demeaning as it may sound if he feels it appropriate to reprimand my children where I don't see fit, I feel it's appropriate to remind him to use his manners as he does so.

Nevertheless his smile faded quickly into a sarcastic smirk eyes rolling and looking away.

Do you know how hard it is to take 3 kids under 5 to the store for a couple hours to get grocery shopping done? When they're sincerely good I FULLY love it and think of it as a miracle!

My children have great manners and we do our best to reinforce that by using please, thank you, excuse me, etc with them on a regular, daily basis.

They are expected to use their manners, so we treat them with the same respect.

I don't want them thinking that I would let them be attacked and feel scared when they feel they aren't -and weren't- doing anything wrong.

I was as positive and polite as I could possibly be.

Was I in the wrong is there a better way to manage this situation?

If you have some advice I would LOVE to hear it I want HONEST feed back!

Experience of a lifetime!

So most of you know Law is seriously OBSESSED with Peregrine Falcons. In fact 95% of his waking hours are spent pretending to be a Peregrine or having Grey hold on to his arm like Grey is his falcon.

When Law was assigned show-and-tell in school he wanted to take a Peregrine Falcon -but had to settle for pictures of one then -on his own- prepared a report to teach all his class about his favorite animal. Law knows so much about these birds and is constantly sharing facts about them

-even with complete strangers!

Today he had an awesome opportunity -my amazing friend hooked us up with a great guy who owns falcons and he let us come out and fly them! He was able to see the falcon fly, catch and eat a pigeon, and HE HELD IT! Ron (owner) even gave the boys their own falcon equipment! -hoods, leashes, etc.

It was FANTASTIC!!! I'm so grateful we were able to do this it was great!!

Christmas

WE HAD A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND WERE SO BLESSED!

Christmas Eve Mom and Dad Newman and Seth came over we had food and a little Christmas program

it was great then right before Cole and I were going to bed we had an elf deliver a special surprise for us!

Thank you mystery elf -you'll never know how much you blessed our lives!

Christmas morning was great fun! Then it was off to church to speak :)

I just had to throw these pics in my boys were excited to receive their own shave kits for a Christmas shave! :D

Halloween was a bust :(

We all dresses up as cowboys and cowgirls, we looked fantastic! -no pictures:(

We made mummy hotdogs for dinner, they were so cute and yummy -no pictures:(

Cole was ornery, Ashtyn was ornery, Law was ornery

and after a major spell of misbehaving from a certain little cowboy

I was WAY ORNERY!

But pressed on got done with trick-or-treating

put kids to bed along with myself!

I love this holiday but this year was difficult

oh well better luck next year!

Today has been much better the kiddos are happy!

Its frosty and cold so we made some nice hot soup and fresh rolls :)

I love Autumn!

Ashtyn's 1st Birthday

Ashtyn had a great 1st birthday!

We had tons of family and friends

come celebrate with us!

we did burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixins in our now BEAUTIFUL backyard :)

-yeah, I'm bragging putting together a yard is HARD WORK!

summer recap

We....

finished the Book of Mormon and had our traditional reward of Hogle Zoo fun!

our family's fav is the bird show!

and of course the kiddos love the playground

We got to have the Mildenstein cousins at our house for a few days!

it was a BLAST!

Mater lives in our little town so we went to visit him

we also went fishing, to the pool, the temple, and they taught me the cupid shuffle :)

Love that SAMBONI!

Man I miss them I should've got more pics!

WE (-Cole) enjoyed many a sunny day at the pool :D

I can't get over all those cute rolls!

We camped out in the Uintahs and Tushars with our awesome friends the Gurleys I love that they have boys pretty close to our boys' ages they play SO WELL together! Should've got pics!!

We did the Newman family reunion and had so much fun with everyone! We all went to the rodeo and camped out in Gma and Gpa Newman's backyard :) It was so great to have everyone together! Should've got pics of that too! :/ Bummer

We did our traditional family stay-cation:)

We twisted Gpa Mote's arm and all went to the Hill Air Force Base Museum it ROCKED!

We even got to play dress-up! and fly simulators!

we decided I look pretty awesome in a flight & G suit so I may be a fighter pilot later in life ;)

We also hit up Union Station on our stay-cation

It had 3 amazing museums!

Union Pacific: trains -of course

Union Station also has a Browning Firearm museum!

There was also a VERY impressive car museum that I LOVED!

For some reason we didn't get any pics of it :(

Then time to go home

On the way home we stopped by my brother's place to say hi since he was back from Cali for the weekend. They were having a Captain America party so he gave the boys some masks

-THEY LOVED THEM!

Cole and I had a great time coaching Law's T-ball team

Law really loved it too!

Law also had his first school experience HE LOVED IT and did SO well!

Law was helpful and listened well to the teachers -who say he gifted :D -but we already knew that!

we love our LAW!

After we explained that that would be illegal and dangerous he settled for pics of one

AND he insisted on one more take while waiting for the bus :)

Grey has discovered his comedian side this summer from funny faces to quoting movies this kid is a RIOT!

7 yrs ago I ran in a race and was doing SO well that when my knee really started to hurt I did not stop. Not the kinda pain that's bothersome and you think 'huh; I wonder what's going on' that was the mile or two before. It was really really hurting -but I was almost done, and did not want to stop.
Now I wish I would've stopped and just walked my knee is ridiculous and acts up from time to time usually after 5 miles it starts to feel tender while running but I can deal with it no biggie.
Today I made it 2 miles 2.MILES? and it started hurting I stopped and it's still bugging me HOURS later!
I can't figure out if I need new shoes or if it's because of running roadside where it's not exactly level
the thing is I've worn these shoes for miles and had no problem, and I run roadside quite frequently-
So what in the world could it be and how can I fix it!!??

I'M SO HAPPY!

We are getting a yard YAY!! Not getting as in the future but as in NOW! like yesterday the sprinkling system was finished -incl an impressive garden system ;)the yard leveled and beautified, the curbing put in all lovely! I got a couple GORGEOUS apple trees to plop in, and our grass will be here in a couple weeks!!! WOOHOO!! I'm so EXCITED!! -did I mention how happy I am about this!?!

6 MONTHS!

Ashtyn is getting so big and growing so fast

she's now a whopping 14lbs -yep still tiny!

and 26 inches long!

of course being one of our babies

she has a big round head -17 inches

St. Patty's Day was great this year :)

We got dressed in our greens

Had green eggs with ham, green toast, and green milk for breakfast

Did a little face painting

-I'm no artist

Remember doing this craft in school?

Law Loved it and did a great job too!

Grey... not so much :)

I'll admit we went a little sweets crazy we made green spritz clover cookies and green sugar cookies -with green frosting and green sprinkles of course because what better way to eat sugar than top it with more sugar?! ;)

And for dinner we made corned beef and cabbage!

I was so proud of myself for making it only to find out

-Cole HATES it! hahaha oh well maybe next year green pizza?

I can't believe he's turned 4! 4 is not that old but still I HAVE A FOUR-YEAR-OLD!?

Crazier than that -he'll be going to pre-school this fall!?!?

I know most people are sending their kids at 3 these days but come on!

How do you know a good school, a good teacher, will he be safe, will he make friends, will people understand him, will he be made fun of, will he want to be home, will he struggle, will he be bossy, will he listen to the teacher?

I'm freaking out I'll be completely honest I had a major anxiety attack about it last night

to the point of being that creepy mom in love you forever -let's be honest -cute in theory

CREEPY IN REALITY!

Come on he's a grown man his mom uses a ladder to climb into his window crawls across the floor and rocks him while he sleeps?!

They make horror films with less creepy characters than this woman!

Yet last night I definitely found myself as her haha

Don't know what happened:

one minute putting away his laundry next thing I know I'm crying and holding his hand while he slept

After such much needed praying and a wonderful morning discussion with my now 4-year-old :)

I'm feeling much better about the whole thing :)

ANYWHO! Here are some highlights from his birthday

Law loves decorations! It's pretty much his favorite part of holidays and birthdays :)

So we went all out balloons and streamers all over the house! We did it the night before so he'd wake up so excited and amazed :)

Here's one of his room -the pics don't capture it really cuz it was awesome!

In the morning he opened presents and we had chocolate chip M&M pancakes

-the kid LOVES chocolate

Cole brought home his cake for lunch

-dont think we're crazy THIS was what he specifically requested

he said "mom I want a cake with a gun, a guy, and a deer -like a hunting cake"

I was going to go with How to train your Dragon

but what can ya do ;)

Then we went bowling and out to Denny's for dinner

He LOVES going out to eat and all things breakfast so we knew he'd like it

he even downed a grand slam all by his self!

I love people in my life with that amazing attitude -you know the ones that people say "well they just don't have any problems" or "their head is in the clouds (lala land or whatever!)" HELLO!! They are people aren't they?! They have problems! They are not stupid! They have the amazing ability to smile through trials and shine in their tribulations! I LOVE IT!!!

We had Grey's B-day planned all out with great fun things to do -I mean how often does a kid turn two?!

Well unfortunately I was still on my death bed and he was also starting to get sick so we had to improvise

And he did such an amazing job! From decorations to pizza and cake he had Grey's bday down pat! We all had a great time I'm so glad Cole was here to take over! Birthdays mean so much to me so I'm so glad he could make it a great day for Grey!

I love Grey he is a super happy boy! He's become SUPER independent and is often saying

"No -IIIII do it!"

which is hard for me because I still want him to be my baby boy oh well I guess they've gotta grow up sometime so I'll just enjoy the ride :')

Mid-life crisis?

Ok so maybe more like a quarter life crisis?

I know I'm practically a baby with a great life that shouldn't be in any sort of crisis right?!

I don't get what my deal is lately, It's like I accidentally sat on the "remote" of life hit fast-forward / skipped several chapters and now the movie life I just sat down to watch is almost over and

I'm ONLY 24!!!

We're done having kids -yes that's official and no we won't be changing our minds. -Believe me it's not at all what I planned for.

Cole's done with school and in a career.

I'm THE ONLY stay-at-home mom in Gunnison and I can't even tell you how frustrating/discouraging/difficult/lonely that has been!! Especially after being in Eagle Mountain :( which is the first place IN MY LIFE that has felt like home.

I haven't felt so out of place since I moved to Nevada with my parents -and that only lasted a couple weeks!

I have NO CLUE what I'm doing here!

I like the people and everything -but don't tell me this is a great place to raise a family

-this is a great place to live but it is SSSOOOO NOT family oriented it's work oriented -which is fine

-IF YOU WORK!

I've had the flu for the past couple weeks and I'm DONE with being cooped up I think I just might go crazy! The only problem is that Grey is now sick and I'm not one of those moms that like to go spreadin the wealth -believe me my temp was like 104.2 for quite a few days

it was AWFUL

I'm not wishin that on anyone. So we will remain shut-ins until we can all be certain that we are over it

-and then probably until April so we can make sure we wont have to go through this again!

-grumble grumble grumble gripe gripe gripe-

Where did my positive attitude run off and hide?

It'll probably come out tomorrow smiling and ready for a new week

but right at this moment it's lost somewhere in this germ infested mess of a person I call

My Valentine got me a gift that was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

THE BEST STRAWBERRIES!!

I kid you not -you open the box and is smells like someone dunked YOU in AMAZING chocolate

Then you cut one of these babies open and before even tasting it your senses are OVERWHELMED with delicious juicy STRAWBERRIES!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU ALL TRY THESE!

-My favorite is the dark chocolate with even darker chips (of course!)

aside from the amazing chocolate I guarantee these will be the best strawberries you've ever had SO fresh, juicy, ripe, and SWEET! Yet still firm :) and just the smell made me feel like it was a warm summer day and I was smack in the middle of a strawberry patch MMM!

Today was a great day we had some awesome friends come over for lunch and check out Cole's work.

Javier and Natalia are from Spain and occasionally get the chance to come for a visit :)

:) I wish we could've visited longer but the couple hours we got was great!

I love to hear stories of things going on in Spain and the day to day life that is lived there. It makes me feel so grateful to live where I do, we have so many rights and privileges here and

-though some things are not as I think they should be-

I'm proud to be an American!

So we had a great little visit

I wish I could've got some pics but oh well!

I made some great soup with homemade bread bowls MMM! And Javi brought some AMAZING CHOCOLATE from Europe.

All-in-all a great little visit I can't wait to see them again!

So I got my own mini heart-attack too :D

All snuggly warm in their beds totally unsuspecting of what they'll wake up to in the morning!

Seriously I'm really excited for their reaction when we did a little room decoration for Christmas it was ALL Law could talk about he had to show EVERYONE his room!

This was a SUPER fun one especially because I enlisted Cole's help we wrote things we love about them and did some individual notes it was great!

I'm so thankful for my boys they are keepers FOR SURE!

Cookies!

I made cookies the night of the 1st so we could decorate on the 2nd for our second valentine's celebration!

-due to a lack of thinking on my part-

I left them on the counter and woke up to find them mostly gone so to not OD my kids with sugar I decided to have them decorate tonight instead :)

We got this book for Law -Growing Up Cowboy- by Jack Sorenson it was just something cute we picked up it talks about honesty, work ethic, courage, etc etc -All the things a Cowboy needs to learn.

Anyways it's full of cute pictures one of them is "a growing cowboy is polite"....

I had a great birthday and was totally spoiled!

Cole bought me flowers -gerber daisies my fav! and a bday cake and we went out to lunch

I got some cute shirts and an AWESOME train bday cake from mom and dad (Rod and LeAnn)-decorated by dad himself :)

I got Despicable Me -which I LOVE and have been wanting! from mom and dad (Pete and CaraLee)

and a beautiful pearl necklace and bday party and dinner -complete with cupcakes ;) from mom dad and gram (Mike, Jina and Gram)

All in all a great bday month!

OH HOW I LOVE MY CHILDREN!

they're the best! and the most fun!

Law has the imagination of 5,000 kids! He's something new everyday whether its an animal or a person from a movie or ANYTHING! The other day in nursery the teacher asked everyone to say their name and their favorite animal Law said "my name is hiccup and I like my pet dragon!" in his mind the world has endless possibilities! Law will turn 4 this year, he is getting so old and remembers EVERYTHING -so watch out! He loves to sing and play games like; hide and seek, duck duck goose, uno, and don't break the ice! He prays so well and loves to 'read' scriptures a couple nights ago we sat down for scriptures and he said "I want to read first" He opened his book of mormon and said "once upon a time, it came to pass there was lehi -he's good, and king noah -HE'S BAD! there was Alma and he has a dad named Alma too!..."

I was totally shocked I can't believe he remembered so many random things! -and that he was actually listening all those times lol!

I love him SO MUCH!

Grey is a blast he is the epitome of 'happy go lucky' he's super cheerful and loves to play pretend -usually with Law but occasionally all on his own too! Grey is super loving and it's so great because I LOVE the spontaneous hugs, kisses, and snuggles! Grey will turn 2 this year -but he seems so much older! I think having older siblings might make them grow up faster ?? He can say a prayer, count to 10, and recognizes a few letters like A L and G. Grey LOVES his baby sister and pretty much everything baby! Strollers, Dolls, baby blankets, you name it! Law has a giant dinosaur that Grey wraps up in a blanket and carries around like a baby its super cute! -But dont let that fool you this kid is all boy! He also takes 'said dino' to destroy whatever village Law creates lol! If there is an adventure to be had Grey is there! He's the curious, climber! He loves sports and although he doesn't have the natural niche for them like Law he doesn't give up and he keeps trying and gets better at -shooting a basket, hitting a baseball, and kicking a soccer ball into the net! He's a wonderful boy and I love him SO MUCH!

p.s. did I mention he LOVES to dance and can't help himself whenever/wherever he hears music!

And there's Ashtyn, she's my baby girl and although I never was super girly I find myself oohing over frills, bows, headbands, bracelets, earrings, dresses, shoes, bloomers, leggings, nail polish, and anything that sparkles! I get the feeling that SHE is very girly and I LOVE IT! Ashtyn to me is the most beautiful baby in the world! Besides her blue eyes with long dark lashes, soft dark hair, and smile that makes your heart so happy you could die! she has the most beautiful spirit and is full of love for her family! -which just adds so much to this beautiful princess of mine! Ashtyn is 4 months old and just started rolling over she's been a talker since birth and LOVES attention! -which is good because she gets plenty of it! She captivates her brothers with every squirm and giggle -and she loves when they to talk to her!

Ashtyn is such a sweet baby and I love her SO MUCH!

I just shaved her head last week and her hair is already growing so fast! I'll have to get some pics up!

We had a good Christmas eve and Christmas. We had a little party with finger foods and a movie, they also got to open a few presents Christmas eve and we read about the birth of Christ in the bible it was SO fun to just have our own little family with our own little traditions!

We had an AMAZING little Thanksgiving it was the 2nd year we've done all by ourselves. The food was GREAT! -thanks to your's truly;) and actually Cole did the turkey -deep fried to perfection! I wish I got a picture of it Cole is SO AWESOME! and of course I made pies because I LOVE TO!

Just before Thanksgiving it finally snowed here and the boys were SO excited to get out there and play!

-And ever since they've decided that snow is not really their thing :( I think they'll get over it Law used to LOVE playing in the snow now they just complain about being to cold -I actually have to bribe them with hot cocoa just to come out with me for a few minutes!

The kids are always bummed when they don't get to see Dad so today I tried to make up for it.

We had bowtie pasta with alfredo sauce (Law's fav 'butterflies with white sauce') then I cut their hair, everyone had showers :) for family home evening we made hot chocolate and popcorn and watched a movie together it was a great night. I sure love our little family!

Baby Blessing

We had Ashtyn's baby blessing at church on Sunday it was kinda a last minute-immediate family thing. We didn't have anyone over after we just went to church, had the blessing, finished up the meeting, and went home. So it was very small and short but it was wonderful! She is such an amazing little spirit I'm so happy she has come to our family she has been a great blessing to us all! I love that having her has made me fall in love with all my babies all over again they are all so absolutely beautiful!

Ashtyn wore a lovely long white dress made by her Grandma Newman (LeAnn) it fit PERFECTLY! Her Aunt Natalie made a pretty headband with a white flower accented with a pink jewel in the center, we bought her a special blessing bracelet -picked out by her brothers

and OF COURSE her Mommy painted her nails :) I love this little one so much! I especially love that each of our children have brought our family together in such remarkable ways -that only they could.

Saturday the 11th we had a Newman family Christmas party after which Mom and Dad (Rod and LeAnn) gave all the grandkids gifts -being very much in the Christmas spirit we decided they could open them when we got home :) they were so excited to receive...

So I bought this stroller from target

I was super excited to get it,

but after using it it's just not the greatest, it's heavy and the swivel wheel doesn't lock very securely

so I just returned it and ordered this one and saved 80 bucks :)

I can't wait until it gets here hopefully it will be amazing!

I'm debating tying this one to me...

All three kids are sick. After an extremely whiny day Grey fell asleep on me at 5:30pm so it shouldn't have been any surprise that he was up at 4am and has been up to mischief ever since.

I turn my back for a second and he's up to something -which is actually pretty normal for him but today with sick kids and the fact that I'm dragging from so little sleep -it seems to be intensified!

After drinking Cole's cologne and spitting it ALL OVER I put him in the shower, Natalie came to listen to Ashtyn's lungs and see if she was wheezing (thanks you Nat!), the internet guy called to ask questions about the problems we've been experiencing, after that's taken care of I check on the shower POOP! I've never had this happen before, and am quite upset because I LOVE my shower! He pooped in the shower -yeah ok so not entirely his fault but he was stomping in the poop and mashed it all up! I tell him to stay there and RUN to get stuff to clean it up come back around the corner and there he is naked and wet ON MY CARPET! seriously?!? get it all cleaned up Law's crying lunch Ashtyn's screaming and grey still needs to get dressed!

so I dress the boy -to prevent any further messes! Take care of Ashtyn get lunch ready and Law wants to bless the food -he does it all the time and usually says the exact same things. However; this time he goes along and blesses everyone as usual then says -and please bless the food wont kill us-

I HAD to laugh

it was that moment I decided that stressing over everything just wasn't worth it I'd rather just let it go and laugh :)

*but I probably will be tying Grey to me -just to keep an eye on him! :)*

two months

My beautiful daughter Ashtyn,

You're now 2 months old. At your check up you weighed just over 9lbs and measured 22in long a huge improvement, yet you're still so tiny! I love you so much it's unbelievable how a person's love can grow with more children and not just be divided among them. You have brought something so new, wonderful, and unexpected to our family I haven't quite figured out a word for it but it, like you, is AMAZING! You've changed my whole world and everyone in it. The soft tone, touch, and look in your father's eyes; Law's need to talk to you, pray for you, and tell you goodnight; and Grey's oblivious lively manner, turning to conscious attentiveness when you are around -always wanting to hold and kiss you, his excitement over every move and sound you make -All these new things make me realize just how remarkable you are. You play a very important role in our family -one that, up until your birth, I did not realize we needed so much! I have been shown the importance of women in a way that I had not ever known, you've softened our hearts in a way we all desperately needed, you are such a blessing -especially to me! Thank you for coming to our family you are such a sweet note to end our childbearing years on! I hope you realize how wonderful you are!

Where Have We Been?

Wow! I haven't updated since MAY! And SO much has happened since then! We moved from our beautiful home in Eagle Mountain; leaving a good job, a great ward, and amazing friends for a new adventure! Cole is working as an engineer for a firearms business and he loves it! It's really a dream job for him :) I'm so proud of him in all that he's doing he's learned and accelerated so fast and is doing an amazing job! Our new ward is great everyone is so nice and we've made many friends. We're in a new house which is wonderful -I'm excited to get the yard done in the spring :) we've also had the chance to welcome a new little member of our family into the world -I'll give a better update about that one soon :)

Yesterday the boys and I went on a little adventure and part of it was going to Smith's just to look around and find a sweet snack at the bakery. Law found a spider-man cupcake that he REALLY wanted. I didn't think much about our little trip, that is, until this morning when Law came in and asked to have spider cake at Joseph Smith's house LOL! It is so hilarious to me that I told him we were at Smith's and he put that together with Joseph Smith -his little boy mind is SO CUTE!

I HATE waiting I'm not patient AT ALL!!! I think it's a lesson someone upstairs is trying to teach me right now because not only am I pregnant and feeling so impatient with how slow it seems to be going! I'm feeling impatient with my kids due to their sudden spurt of destructive messiness. I also am waiting for someone to come see my house -please if you buyers are out there PLEASE come see my house! Its kinda clean at the moment- I am waiting to find out if our offer on the other house was accepted (which we find out today yet it STILL seems to be taking FOREVER!). Like I said I just hate waiting and really dont love this feeling of being in between places I just want things to be settled again!

I love Grey like crazy! He's that little spot of brightness on a dark day, he is blessed with a gift that I'm trying so hard to acquire ...cheerfulness! No matter what is happening at the time he could fall down, or not get exactly what he wants -he's upset for exactly 1.5 seconds before he decides its not worth ruining his day so he chooses to be happy. I shouldn't call him a baby he's walking and working really hard at talking, he has a mind of his own and by-golly he IS GOING TO USE IT! He decides what he wants to do, what -and where- he wants to eat, when he wants to sleep, and much more! But, you know, some how I feel he will always be my little baby even after this next one comes. People always said I'd love my boys equally just for different reasons -and they were right! Grey has a way of just melting my heart, its crazy, it helps that his smile is contagious, but one of the big things is how much of Cole I see in him from those dark chocolate eyes to his wide bright smile even the way he dances I LOVE IT! He has brought a peace into our family that I never knew was missing I love this little boy and am so excited to watch him grow! I hope he always chooses to use his gift of cheer!

I'm so excited! This week we're having a much needed, well over-due family stay-cation! We will be taking small road trips, going fishing, visiting the zoo, having bbq's, going to the live aquarium, and who knows what other fun and crazy things! I'm so happy we get this opportunity to spend time -just us, our little family! This weekend will be great too! We're having Shane, Mindy, and Marshal over for our traditional waffles and conference :) then some of my family is coming over for Easter Sunday celebration! I love having things to look forward to -especially when I'm pregnant it makes it go by so much faster! Hope you all have a great week!

oh how I love Law! It seems your babies grow up so fast -too fast! Law has grown up in SO

many ways this past year its hard to believe he was ever so small. He's tackled the challenge

of being a big brother for a year now -and he acts like one too! Always looking out for Grey

whether a child takes a toy from Grey, He's walking towards a flight of stairs, going to close

to the street, eating something of the floor, or touching the garbage can Law is right there to

solve any problems or right any wrongs. This growing up so fast often worries me, he should

be worried about playing not following his brother around just incase something happens I don't

want him to suffer from anxiety for crying out loud! But I know it is an outward expression of

the love and care he has for his baby brother and he truly does have a good intent. Today as

he was sitting on 'the pot' Cole and I were outside the door talking as I started to sound a

little frustrated I hear from inside the bathroom, "Mom, you speak nicely." He cracks me up

I love this big/little guy so much! He's is such a wonderful blessing!

So just a few minutes ago in the noisy Newman house hold there was a crash heard. Running to investigate Cole soon discovered something disgustingly hilarious. As most of you know Law has been potty training but has not yet learned to put the seat back down or close the door. Grey had wandered into the bathroom found a hair brush and decided to go fishing with it -in the toilet! Oh but that's not all, being a little top-heavy he fell into the toilet with the lid crashing down and trapping him in! luckily his head was no where near the water but he was SOAKED! Needless to say the next step in potty training for Law will be to put the lid down and close the door!

Yesterday was my birthday and it was awesome! I had a great time hanging out with my chillens, I got A TON of loving phone calls, net msgs, voicemails, and txt msgs from family and friends -seriously I didn't know I was so loved! Cole came home with a big bunch of flowers and a bday cake! My friend Shannon stopped by and gave me an awesome (and much needed) hand moisturizing kit, and my friend Karen came over and gave me some SUPER cute earrings! Cole got take out Chinese food mmmmMMMM! We ate, had cake, then watched the Bourne Supremacy. All-in-all a great day! I was so happy because since Grey had been so sick my bday was kinda put on the back-burner but everyone made it a great day! Thanks so much to all of you for all your love and bday wishes! -Especially yours Rochelle Grey woke up this morning with no fever and is doing GREAT! Thanks for all those that have been keeping him in mind and in your prayers!

So the boys both enjoyed halloween and got plenty of candy -we took one for the team and ate Grey's ;) Law was a skunk and Grey was a scarecrow. Ray took some pics of them both as skunks it was SUPER CUTE!

We were by ourselves for Thanksgiving and it was really nice. I made the dinner all by myself! and it actually turned out YUMMY!

We didnt get any pics at Christmas or New Year's but we had a great time at Grandpa Mike & Grandma Jina's for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, then went to the Newman's for Christmas dinner and had fun there too!

New year's was fun. Dave, Cole, and I stayed up, ate good food and just relaxed it was great!

Grey got his head shaved when he was just 4 months old, we usually wait for a year but he had tons of hair and it was getting very patchy. Not to worry he now has a full head of hair and will STILL need his head shaved at the traditional one-year mark :)

I was so surprised to get on here and see that 4 people commented -not that four is a ton- I just thought everyone would have stopped checking my blog since its been forever since I've updated.

Having two kids is a RIOT! I just have to tell you how fun it has been. Its crazy to see that two children who come from the same parents, live in the same house, raised with the same rules, and are the same gender are SO completely DIFFERENT!

Law likes to go to bed & get up early

Grey likes to stay up & sleep in

Law was a SUPER particular baby (and still is) who is very serious (and says so on a constant basis "Mom, I'm serious")

Grey is very laid back and playful and smiles and laughs almost constantly

Law has always been good about eating food and generally doesn't complain

Grey is ULTRA picky about eating its gotta be the right temperature, texture, taste and timing

Law is very vocal and LOUD. You know exactly when he's getting into trouble because he gets quiet.

Grey is so quiet you forget he's in the room and never know when he's getting into trouble!

Law was a very determined mover, when he was a baby he'd roll across the apartment for something he wanted -usually that you didn't want him to have.

Grey on the other hand would reach for something (before he was crawling) and I'd scoot it back a little to see if he'd crawl for it, he'd just sit back and look at you as if to say 'ok if you don't want me to have it I wont touch it' -but if he's going to move he wants to walk, he doesn't care how much he falls he just wants to be like the rest of his family!

And these are only a few of the differences!

-anyway there's a little note on being a mommy of two I love it!

I KNOW ITS BEEN FOREVER SINCE I'VE POSTED ANYTHING SO I HAVE ALOT TO CATCH UP ON BUT FOR NOW LETS HAVE A LITTLE REVIEW OF SOME THINGS THAT WENT ON IN '09 sorry no pics :/ WITH HAVING A BABY AND GOING THROUGH 'THE FIRST YEAR' IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THIS YEAR HAS FLOWN BY!

GREY- WAS BORN, GOT TEETH, A FIRST HAIRCUT, ROLLED OVER, SAT UP, ENJOYED SOLID FOODS, STARTED CRAWLING AND WALKING (in the same day), SAID HIS FIRST WORDS, AND NOW CAN WALK UN-ASSISTED ALL IN WHAT SEEMED LIKE A FEW DAYS. HE IS NOW ALMOST A YEAR AND I CANT BELIEVE HOW BIG HE HAS GOTTEN!

LAW- HAS BECOME AN AMAZING BROTHER WHO LOVES TO HELP, PLAY, TALK, AND SING WITH HIS LITTLE GREY GOOSE. HE'S LEARNED SO MUCH THIS PAST YEAR; GOING TO BED WITHOUT A BINKI, DANCING, SINGING AND MEMORIZING A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT SONGS (TONIGHT'S GONNA BE A GOOD NIGHT & I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE ARE SOME OF HIS FAVORITES), TAKING NAPS W/O A BINKI, A WHOLE SLEW OF NEW WORDS (incl. some we're not so proud of :P lol), to recognize all the letters of the alphabet, counting to ten, recognize and draws some shapes, going #1 and #2 in the potty -although not fully trained, HE'S QUICKLY LEARNED THE 'RULES OF THE HOUSE' AND THAT HE DOES NOT LIKE BEING IN TIMEOUT, HE HAS CONCURRED GOING TO NURSERY WITHOUT CRYING (however he occasionally cries when we take him home!) AND ONE OF THE BEST THINGS HE HAS LEARNED HOW TO MAKE AND PLAY WITH FRIENDS!

COLE- FINISHED ANOTHER YEAR OF SCHOOL, TAUGHT MANY CONCEALED CARRY CLASSES, DODGED A FEW ROUNDS OF LAY-OFFS AT WORK, WAS PUT IN CHARGE OF SOME AWESOME PROJECTS AT WORK, HAS DONE WELL AND ACCOMPLISHED A LOT WITH HIS OWN BUSINESS, HUNTED ELK FOR THE 1ST TIME (and shot none), HAD AND HAS SOME PRETTY COOL EXPERIENCES WITH HIS CHURCH CALLING, AND HAS TAKEN ON ANOTHER NEW ROLE IN LIFE -but I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about it.

AND ME - WELL I'VE BEEN HERE FOR IT ALL :D

They crack me up with how much they love each other, this is a pic taken by Law while laying on the floor telling/showing Grey how to roll over. The amazing thing is that Grey DID IT and for the very first time!

Fathers and Sons

Cole took Law camping for "fathers and sons" -well they didn't actually wind up camping. When they got their it turned out to be a cow pasture and the people in charge were a little less than organized and none of the food they said they'd have was actually there -if any of you know Cole you know how he responded to that lol! So they just went up, snacked on what they'd brought, threw around the ball and came home. Law still had a blast here are a few pics of him leaving for 'en sons' -his term for the campout! Law couldn't decide which hat to wear for such a big event, after much debate he chose the the Longhorns -good choice!

Hi everyone,

I am posting these pics for Jessica. Here is Grey H Newman. He was born February 19th he is 7 pounds 6 ounces 21 inches long. Right now he isn't doing very well and we would like to ask for everyone's prayers for him. He is in the NICU because he is having some trouble breathing and as of last night the doctors aren't sure why. Please pray for Mom & Baby!! I'll update the info as soon as I know more.

The other day we went out and played in the snow, it was fun and OH SO COLD!

I love the way our trees frost over! Every single little twig gets flocked -so beautiful!

Does the changing of seasons mess with your kids' sleep schedules?
Law has had the WORST time sleeping lately he's all messed up! This morning he came into my room around 3:30 AM and says "HI!" all excitedly like it's time to get up! -but it is definitely NOT (I understand that it is still dark when we do get up so it could be confusing). This is just one of the examples of his messed up sleep schedules, he wont take naps I put him down and he just plays for hours (like he's to old for a nap- but I am DEFINITELY not ready to let go of nap time!) He also wakes up several times in the night and comes into my room and crawls onto the bed with me, sometimes I give in, only to remember what a bed hog he is kicking, punching and rolling all over me. I dont know if its because the snow outside makes it so light that he just cant sleep or what!!?? Do any of you have experience with this? I need some advice because -for those of you that dont know- I am a total BEAR without sleep! I've already been losing enough with just being pregnant but COME ON I need a break!
